Some photos at last....

Image
Hello! Atlast I have found an internet cafe with the facilities to let me download a few photos. They even have Photoshop CS2! I've reduced the file sizes of each photo and I think Hotmail may very well reduce them again so I hope that they end up large enough to see without a microscope! Photos are as follows:- 1. A view of Rio from Sugarloaf Mountain 2. Ilha Grande - Our lodge in the undergrowth 3. Ilha Grande - Night-time outside the ice-cream shop 4. A mad seller of things made from rubbish at the market in Curitiba 5. A homeless boy noticed me pointing a camera at him from behind a bush in Curitiba 6. Chasing the train between Curitiba and Morretes 7. The sandy pathways of Ilha do Mel 8. Sunset at the jetty on Ilha do Mel 9. Maria and Nicolas.... 10. .... and their pousada (lodge) 11. Iguacu Falls from the Brazilian side 12. Iguacu Falls - The Devil's Throat - notice the black sky and rain! 13. Iguacu Falls - The Devil's Throat ...

We are now in Argentina....

Hello!!! Hope you are well. We are both fine and dandy. Well, Lynn has loads of mosquito bites on her legs and some of them are swelling up and looking quite hideous but she's taking antihistamine which is helping and anyway I'm alright Jack! Well, as you may have noticed from the subject title, we have crossed our first border and we're now in Argentina. Not far into Argentina, only a couple of miles at the moment. We are in a little town called Puerto Iguazu and in 90 minutes we get on the coach to Buenos Aires. It's an 18 hour journey so we're going in style on one of the big luxury sleeper coaches. It's a lot like First Class on a plane but with better views! The seats are huge and lay out almost flat so we can sleep well tonight. You get blankets and pillows and a goodie bag when you get on and a hostess comes round serving you food and drink throughout. I believe there's also a TV in each seat like on a plane but I can't confirm this yet. The cos...

Greetings from the middle of nowhere!

Hi to you all, Hope you are well. I am exceedingly well now that I have left the flu bug far behind and Lynn managed to avoid getting it altogether so we're both well infact. Thank you to anyone who has sent me an email. It's really nice to hear from you and please don't decide not to send me an email just because you think I probably get too many and get fed up of reading them as it's not true. It's really nice to log-in to my email account and find lots of messages especially ones that tell me you enjoy reading my updates! So anyway, where am I? That is a very good question and I hope your maps are detailed if you're following our progress in an atlas or something. Well, first off we're still in Brazil. Find Curitiba in the south west and Paranagua on the coast somewhere below it. Between these two places is a little lodge owned by a Spanish couple called Maria and Nicolas in the rainforest somewhere between the two towns of Morretes and Antonina. The l...

Tootling down the Emerald Coast ...

Hello again!   Hope you are well. We've left Rio behind us now so I thought it was about time I sent an email. Thank you to anyone who sent me an email, it was much appreciated and I apologise if I haven't replied personally. Thanks also to Dave for the football results. Keep them coming, please. There isn't always a good connection to t'internet and it's all I can do to send an email sometimes let alone browse the football sites looking for results.   Since my last email I've had an almighty cold. It knocked me for six and as a result I missed the entire carnival. That's right, every blimmin' minute of the thing passed me by and I haven't seen even one scantily clad maiden gyrating her way down the streets of Rio wearing nothing but a few appropiately placed feathers. Neither did I get to see any floats... though that could have something to do with the constipation. But don't worry, I'm feeling much better again now!   Well, as I mentioned ...
